Rajma / Red kidney bean curry.



Rajma Curry is famous and tasty authentic recipe in North Indian cuisine.

Rajam is rich source of Fibres.We can prepare lot many varieties with Rajma.

Today I am posting one of the famous recipe with Rajma.

Ingredients:
1 cup - Red kidney beans (soaked atleast 2 hours before cooking)
1 - Medium Onion (Finely chopped)
2 - Medium Tomato (Finely chopped)



1 Tbsp - ginger & garlic paste
Red chilli powder
1 Tbsp - Garam masala
Turmeric powder - pinch
1 Tbsp - Coriander powder
Salt


For seasoning:


Butter r oil
Mustards
Cumins
Cinnamon stick

Methods:

Drain the soaked red kidney beans and wash them, add sufficient water and pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistle

Now heat oil in pan once oil heats add Cinnamon,mustards,jeera.Once mustards start spluttering add ginger & garlic paste fry it for few seconds.

Add chopped onions and let it fry till turns to golden brown.

Add the chopped tomatoes,garam masala,coriander powder,turmeric powder,stir it and let it cook till tomatos mushy.

Then add pressure cooked red kidney beans, add 1 cup water and allow to cook for 5 Mins.

Finally add red chilli powder and salt,stir it thoroughly and allow it to cook for another 10 mins.That's it.

Serve hot with steamed rice,chappatis or Rotis.

Note: After cooking dont drain the excess water.This water will have the flavour of the kidney beans.We can use this to make delicious 'Rasam'.

Rajma is the king of beans (acc.to me)! I love the taste of this curry. Good one. Must have tasted yum!
