It is typical karnataka food.........Bisi means 'Hot',bela means 'Dal',it is tasty mixture of rice,dal and vegetables........here goes the recipe
Ingredients:
1 Cup - Rice
1 cup - Toor dal
1 1/2 cup- Mixed veggies(Carrot,beans,peas,soya seeds,potato,turnip)
1 - Onion(medium)
1 - Tomato(medium)
2 Tbsp - Tamarind paste
2 Tbsp - Ghee
2 - Green chillies
Turmeric - pinch
Chille powder
Jaggery
Salt
Bisibela bath powder
Seasoning:
Oil
Mustards
Urad dal
chana dal
cashew nuts
curry leaves
cilentro
Here it goes...........
Pressure cook the dal by adding chopped onions,tomatos for 3 whistle
Now cook the rice seprately ,once the rice is half boiled add the cooked dal along with all the veggies and let it cook on medium flame
Now take a small bowl and add 2 tbsp of Bisibelabath powder add little water and stir it properly to avoid lumps, add this to the rice
Now add tamarind paste,jaggery,salt,chille powder and finally add ghee which leaves very good smell
Take a pan add oil once oil heats add mustard seeds,uraddal,chana dal,splited green chilles,cashewnuts and curry leaves fry it of couple of seconds now pour this to the cooked rice-dal-veggie mixture and garnish with fresh cilentro........and serve hot with Onion raitha,tastes Yammi.........

Well.. we here in Europe... tried your recipes and they are FANTASTIC!
Bisbelabath, Kakarakaya fry have become our regular menu items.
