Bobbatlu / Puran Poli

I know we often make Bobbatlu on frestive days, but for people like us who are in abroad long week end is like frestival,So I made this.

Ingredients:

1Cup - Wheat flour
1Cup - All purpose Flour (Maida)
Salt - little
Turmeric powder - Pinch
Ghee

For Puran:

1 cup - Channa dal (Senagapappu0
1 cup - Jaggery (Powdered)
2 Cardamom Pods powder

Method :

Mix both flours, turmeric and salt by adding sufficient water make a smooth dough (similar like chapati dough), add oil to the dough and keep kneading it and keep it aside for 15 to 20 mins, By this time the oil will separate from the dough and it will be like elastic.

Mean while pressure cook Channa dal with 2 cups of water and upto 3 whistles, and then drain the water completely.

In a vessel add jaggery to cooked dal and stir continuously on low flame add cardamom, continue stirring till mixture become medium stiff.

Make lemon sized balls with the dough and on greased sheet press flat with your figures and then Keep the purnam ball in the middle of equal portions.

Cover it with dough and gently pressing the poli with your fingers into to a circle shape.

Heat the Tawa on medium flame, and carefully place it on tawa and fry both the sides ,just like Chapati and remove it.

Enjoy with warm milk and ghee........
