Kakarakaya Vepudu/Bitter Gourd

This is yummy recipe,lot of people dont like bittergourd because of its bitter taste.....there are so many varieties with bittergourd......now i am posting one among them....

Ingredients:

Kakarakaya - 3(medium size)
Onion - 1(medium)chopped
Salt
Red chillie powder
Turmeric - pinch
Jaggery - 2 Tbsp
Pappula podi - 2 tbsp(Bhuna chana powder)

For seasoning:

3 Tbsp - Oil
1 Tbsp - mustards seeds/Avalu
1 Tbsp - chana dal/kandi pappu
1 Tbsp - Urad dal/minapappu
Curryy leaves



Method:

Slice the bitter gourd in to small pieces,add salt,turmeric powder and keep it aside

Take frying pan and add oil once oil heats add mustard seeds,chan and urad dal and curry leaves,finally add chopped onions

Once onion turns into brown colour,squezee the bitter gourd(so that extra bitterness will comes out in the from of water) and put it in the pan and let it fry for 5 to 10 mins

Now add jaggery,chille powder,salt and Bhuna chana powder and let it fry for 5 more mins..........thats all enjoy with hot steamed rice
