My mom used to make upma for at least 2 or 3 times a week.Me and my 2 sisters use to fight with her always saying that again upmaaaaaaaaaaaa.Now i understood so I can’t blame her because upma is the simplest and fastest recipe one can make.Though we can prepare 2 to 3 varieties of upma.Today i am posting one among them which is my favourite.
Ingredients:
1 cup - cracked wheat flour(Godhumarava)
5 r 6 - cashews
4 - green chillies chopped
1 - onion chopped (Large)
1 - Tomato chopped (Medium)
2 Tbsp - Grated coconut
2 Tbsp - oil
3 cups water
For seasoning:
Mustards
Curry leaves
Urad & chana dal
Oil
Method:
Heat pan and fry the semolina for 2 to 3 mins,which gives out a nice aroma and then keep it aside.
In the same pan add oil,once oil heats add cashews, mustards,urad & chana dal and curry leaves fry it till mustards start spluttering.
Now add slitted green chillies,chopped onions and chopped Tomatos. Stir and saute till the onions turns to golden colour.
Pour in 3 cups water,bring it to boil.Then addSalt according to taste and fried Semolina stir it properly to avoid lumps,Close it with lid and let it cook till all the water absorbs.Finally add grated coconut stir it once that's all enjoy with any pickle are chutney
