Ingredients:
1 cup - Urad dal
2 cups - Idli Rava
1/2 tbsp - Baking soda
salt to taste
Method:
Soak urad dal and Idli rava separately in enough water overnight at least for 5 to 6 hours.
Grind the Urad dal into smooth batter,by adding water gradually .Take the batter in to the vessel.
Take handful of idli rava,squeez water and mix this to the batter thoroughly without any lumps.Cover it and keep it like that for 5 to 6 hours
Stir it and add salt and pinch of baking powder.But make sure the batter should not be too tight or too watery.
In a idli stand take of the idli plates and add 1 glass of water in to the vessel.Now take ladleful of idli batter and pour this into the idli moulder(See the above picture)
carefully place it in to the water containing vessel and close it with lid and let it cook for 15 mins.
After 15 mins,open the lid of idli stand and carefully touch,we can observe batter will be hardened.If it is sticky,let it cook for another 5 to 10 min.
Now take of each idli with spoon.That's all..... serve hot hot idlis with Sambar are chutney.
