Moong Dal/Pesara Pappu Payasam



This is my first time of preparing Pesara payasam.It was really Yammy.

All we need is

Moong Dal - 1 Cup
Sugar - 1 Cup
Milk - 2 Cups
Water - 2 Cups
Cashews & Raisins - ¼ cup
Cardamom pods - 3
Ghee - 3 Tbsp( Neyyi)

Method:

In pan heat a teaspoon of ghee on medium heat. Add and roast moong dal until the color changes to light golden colour,remove them and keep it aside.



In the same pan heat a tablespoon of ghee toast raisins and cashews,keep it aside

Pressure cook the roasted moong dal along with cup of milk and cup of water to two whistles.Mash the dal. In a deep bottomed vessel add remaining cup of milk,Water,sugar and cooked moong dal.Stir it properly and let it cook for 5 mins,finally add 3 tbsp Ghee,Powder cardamom and roasted cashews & raisins.
