Chikkudukaya/broadbean

In India chikkudukaya is a famliar vegetable for all.My mother usually prepares this with raw coconut like pure south indian taste,really yammi.When i went to my frnd's house, her mother prepared chikkudukaya curry really very spicy and tastey.I know three verities with chikkudukaya,now this is one among them



Ingredients:

1/2kg - Chikkudukaya/broad bean
1 Tbsp - Ginger garlic paste
1 Tbsp - Greated Jaggery
2Tbsp - Grated coconut
1r 2 - Green chillies
Red chilli powder
1Medium - Tomato
1Tbsp - Turmeric
1large - Onion
Salt to Taste


Seasoning:
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves
Chana dal
Urad dal
Oil

Method:

Tear each broad bean in to 2 r 3 pieces and keep it aside

Now in a deep pan add oil,mustards,chana,urad dal and curry leaves,sliced green chilles.Once mustard started popping add chopped onions and Tomatos,let it fry for couple of seconds

Once onions turns into golden colour add ginger garlic paste,Turmeric and broad bean,stir it properly and let it fry of another couple of seconds

Now add grated coconut and jaggery and cup of water. let it boil for 5 to 10 min on medium flame

Finally add Red chillie powder and salt.........goes good with Steamed hot rice
